According to studies conducted in the United States, 24 men who modify the lifestyle of the enzyme telomerase increased by 29 percent from the average.

Increased telomerase activity is related to reduction in bad LDL cholesterol and reduced levels of stress.

The researchers stated, it is still too early to tell if the drive level of telomerase would lead to changes in telomere length. However, there is evidence to suggest, that low telomerase activity is an important risk factor for cancer and cardiovascular disease.

"This encourages many people to change their diet and lifestyle," says Ornish.
